    also, have you replace the coolant? there are 3 coolant tanks and coolant lasts about 5 years. i know it is not the the manual, but if you look at all the electric cars. they all need to be replaced. the honda prologue shows coolant needs to be replaced 5 years or 100k miles.

      Yes I usually bring car to Honda for brake fluid and coolant flush. And as you said there are massive amounts of coolants in multiple locations on this car, I wouldn't be taking on the task myself.

      Indeed that would help, I do that with oil change, but with transmission fluid it seems okay based on how easy it went in when I did it, there are large gaps at the filler port for air to balance out.

    Just as a heads up, I'd highly advise against using magic erasers to clean your interior. Magic erasers are a very fine abrasive that strips off UV protection, and leather/trim dye. Instead, use a cheap steam cleaner and a microfiber towl to clean and pull the oils out that causes the seats to become glossy.

    Hello, thanks for the video, very informative. I had a leak in my 2017 Sierra’s condenser like most gmc/chevy trucks do. I pulled consistent vacuum for 50 minutes. I let it sit for one hour with no changes. I add one 8 oz can of freon. It took a while 15+ minutes. I had it on a scale and watched the frozen condensation disappear. I turned off the valve at the can and added second can. The second can never got cold and did not decrease in weight. I tried a third can with the same results as the second can. Did I accidentally add air to the system changing cans? I’m puzzled. Do I have other problems? Compressor turned on and stayed on the entire time. No change in temperature on the thermostat I had mounted in the center vent even after the first can was completely empty. Minor condensation dripping from the evaporator coils. WTF did I do wrong? I used the same OMT manifold with an OMT Vacuum Pump, 4.5 cfm.

    A similar noise occurs in my plug-in clarity. I researched and found out that they over oiled one of the HVAC motors / sensors so in certain temperatures when it's trying to adjust itself it's slipping and not able to find a place to land. It's basically a servo motor continuously searching for the right spot or something like that. It can be super annoying. Some people said they've been able to find the part, open it up and wipe out the access oil and that fixes it. I haven't noticed this sound during the summer but it starts occurring when it gets cold during the winter in my experience. It's a somewhat known issue because I've seen online forums about it. I kind of want to print some stuff out and see if I can twist Honda's arm to fix it via Goodwill.

    • @TheGizmoGarage
      @TheGizmoGarage 5 днів тому

      The oil goes in the same low-pressure port if you bought the refrigerant with added oil. For oil along, it would be risky to gauge how much you need because you won't know if any of the oil leaked out of the compressor or just refrigerant. My personal opinion is don't add any oil, unless your system was entirely rebuilt and had the oil drained when compressor was replaced/serviced.

      No problem. Ideally, getting a second set of JayLow for the other side is best. Otherwise, the kayak may not be secured easily and may come loose. If you must carry two with one JayLow, I highly suggest getting some foam blocks like this: amzn.to/3Xe1tqQ to secure the side that is not sitting in the cradle.
